NOTE: The hazard type for which your system is certified is clearly indicated by the Safety Marking on the the label affixed to the transducer.
Compliance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements, with the exception of those listed in the relevant certificate, is assured by compliance with the following standards:
IECEx | ATEX |
IEC 60079-0:2017 Ed. 7 IEC 60079-11:2011 Ed. 6 |
EN IEC 60079-0:2018 EN 60079-11:2012 |
Gas Hazards (Group II)
Viscometer certified IECEx SIR 08.0028X and CSAE 21UKEX2298X
1 "Process temperature" means the temperature of the resonating sensor shaft below the process connection, whether or not it is actually immersed in the fluid.
2 Maximum process temperature can be reduced further in accordance with the specification of the individual model.
The installer is responsible for ensuring that external sources of heating or cooling do not take the electronic drive assembly enclosure outside the permitted temperature range.
Dust Hazards (Group III)
Viscometer certified IECEx SIR 08.0028X and CSAE 21UKEX2298X
NOTE: For group III applications, the marked maximum surface temperature of T135°C refers to the drive assembly. The permitted ambient range for the drive assembly is -40°C to +80°C. The maximum surface temperature of the viscometer sensor element when fitted with a platinum resistance thermometer is the process temperature plus 15°C. Without a platinum resistance thermometer, the sensor element temperature will not exceed the process temperature. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that external sources of heating and cooling do not take the drive assembly enclosure outside the permitted ambient range.
3 Refer to “Gas Hazards (Group II)” table for permissible temperature ranges.
IMPORTANT: The following applies to all intrinsically safe transducers covered by Sira/CSA certificates IECEx SIR 08.0028X and CSAE 21UKEX2298X:
