8.6 Service and repair
- Please do not hesitate to contact Hydramotion at any time for advice or assistance.
- Please always quote the serial number of the instrument whenever you contact Hydramotion.
- There are no user-serviceable parts in the XL7 transducer or its associated signal processor. If a fault is suspected, please contact Hydramotion or its representative. Do not attempt to repair the unit.
- If reporting an apparent fault, please contact the Hydramotion Service Department at:

and please provide the following information:
- Serial number of the unit
- How long the instrument has been in service
- The type/composition of the fluid(s) being measured
- Measurement conditions (especially temperature)
- Observed and expected viscosity values
- Stability of the measurement(s)
- When the fault was first noticed
- Whether the fault is continuous or intermittent.
8.7 Returning an instrument
Before returning an instrument to Hydramotion:
- Contact Hydramotion Service Department (details above) for return authorisation and documents.
- Clarify any such matters as costs, liability, insurance, import/export documentation, customs declarations etc.
- Fax or email the Returned Goods COSHH Declaration, duly completed, to Hydramotion Service Department.
When shipping:
- Use the original packaging.
- Ensure the instrument is securely packed.
- Include documentation clearly stating the serial number and the reason(s) for return.
